Profession: Psychologist and Author
Biography: Peterson, a clinical psychologist at the University of Toronto, first came to public prominence in 2016 after posting a series of YouTube videos criticizing political correctness and the introduction of a law that would add gender identity as protected grounds for discrimination in Canada.

Teaching people to become better home cooks and to better enjoy their food with family and friends is one of my biggest passions. Much of what I do as a television host and cookbook author revolves around this philosophy. Eating should be pleasurable and approached with a positive state of mind and with great anticipation. Eating is how we nourish our bodies, mind and soul—and we do so better in the company of others.

Country music is having a moment this summer. The week of August 5, for the first time in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, the top three spots were all filled by country songs: “Try That in a Small Town” by Jason Aldean, “Last Night” by Morgan Wallen, and “Fast Car” by Luke Combs. The week of August 22, another country song, Oliver Anthony’s “Rich Men North of Richmond,” shot from uncharted straight to number one.
The foods that make up the ritual seder meal for Passover — the Jewish holiday that begins this year on Monday evening — are pretty standard, and the family dinners on the first night of the holiday usually showcase traditions that are passed down over generations.
That means the seder table can be a great source of history if you know where to look.
Joan Nathan, a James Beard Award-winning cookbook author, has seen many variations of these traditions throughout the years.
Write about what you know, the old adage runs. In “Rita,” her debut as a writer-director-producer, Spain’s Paz Vega has certainly taken that to heart. Years before breaking out with 2001’s “Sex and Lucia,” then starring opposite Adam Sandler in 2004’s “Spanglish,” Vega grew up in Triana, a district of Seville, in Spain’s Andalusia.

The last act. After 146 years, the circus is leaving town for good
Though it might sound quaint, there was a time when people could be astonished.
Before supercomputers fit into shirt pockets and Presidents tweeted. Before moving pictures were beamed through the air. Before moving pictures.
Not only could people be astonished—they enjoyed it. Loved it enough to pay for it.
Historical Context The death toll from the sinking of the Indianapolis is the largest in US naval history. It was sunk in the Philippine Sea during WWII on the 30th July 1945 by Japanese naval torpedoes a few days after delivering parts for the bomb that would level Hiroshima.
Of the 1196 men on board about 800 made it into the water after the ship sunk in 12 minutes. The remaining men began a horrendous 4-day ordeal in the water being picked off by sharks and suffering from heat, thirst and exhaustion.
