Parts of China are experiencing extreme cold this winter: the country’s northernmost city of Mohe logged -63°F, the lowest temperature on record. Amid that, a lack of affordable natural gas has left many people struggling to keep warm. Earlier this month, state-run Global Times reported that communities in Hebei province complained of cuts and rationing in the natural gas supply leaving them short-handed. In Shanxi province, a residential building posted red posters akin to those displayed during the Lunar New Year, except these ones said “cold,” according to Hong Kong-based news outlet HK01.

Woman accidentally kills self while adjusting gun she hid in her bra

The fatal incident which happened last month was revealed by the police on Wednesday, February 18. 55-year-old Christina Bond was struck in an eye in her St. Joseph home on New Year's Day. She died the next day in a Kalamazoo hospital, where she had been airlifted. "She was having trouble adjusting her bra holster, couldn't get it to fit the way she wanted it to," St. Joseph Public Safety Director Mark Clapp told the Kalamazoo Gazette.

Zach Dasher: Duck Dynasty Nephew to Run for Congress

Republican Zach Dasher, nephew of Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson, announced Monday morning that he is running for Congress in Louisiana’s 5th district. “I want to help restore America to what she once was—a nation that builds freedom and prosperity on the anchor of God,” Dasher, 36, told the Shreveport Times. Dasher has a background in pharmaceutical and real estate industries, and he is running on a conservative Republican platform. “Dasher is pro-life and is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment,” stated a press release.
